Our Favorite Places We Visited in 2022

Love & Latitudes Travel Blog

This great wide world makes another revolution around that big beautiful sun, the Love & Latitudes crew says goodbye to 2022. It was a wonderful year that came and went quickly. I set personal travel goals early in the year and was determined to see some new places in our van.

I’m happy to report that we did a good job! Here are some of our favorite places we visited in 2022. Who knows—maybe you’ll feel inspired to get married in one of these amazing locations. If you do, hit me up to be your wedding photographer. I’d love to meet you there!

Soaking Up the Sun in Southern Idaho

For better or worse, my Southern California origins have made me a bit of a West Coast elitist—only because there are so many stunning outdoor areas to explore. But when I visited Southern Idaho, I couldn’t believe my eyes.

I assumed that Idaho was mostly flat farmland. That’s only partly true. Because we visited in the summer, we took the opportunity to hit every lake and river we could. We took time each day—before and after work—to grab our stand-up paddleboard and take to the water.

We fell in love with the Snake River, we watched the rain clouds move across the landscape, we ventured through the lava fields, we snuggled together to watch the orange sunsets over the gorge—it was absolutely stunning. You can see a short video about our trip on the Love & Latitudes TikTok. Unfortunately, some keyboard warriors were mad that we visited. But I’m sure they’ll get over it.

Living Large in Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming

Admittedly, this wasn’t a new location for me. I’ve been to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks with my family before. But I really wanted to take Isiah for his first time. And even though it was a return visit for me, it felt new because it was my first time taking our adventure van. It was certainly a trek, but driving from SoCal to Wyoming was actually a lot of fun.

While elopement and wedding photography is my main gig, I juggle a couple of part-time jobs as well. One of which is a patch company for the outdoor industry based in Jackson, WY. So, this trip was a chance for me to meet my coworkers in person—but not before we hit the national parks.

We saw tons of wildlife in Yellowstone including wolves, bison, and an eagle. In Grand Teton, we took our trusty paddleboard on the river, went hiking, and even saw a fox. Not to mention, we were treated to some of the best starry nights and cloudy mornings I’ve experienced in a while. I certainly hope we can go back soon.

Plodding Through Redwoods National Park in California

This was a bucket list item of mine for quite some time. To be fair, all of the national parks are on my bucket list. But I do love big, beautiful trees—especially when they are in my home state.

Now, I’ve spent a lot of time around coastal redwoods. But nothing could have prepared me for how otherworldly and magical Redwoods National Park feels. The park is actually a series of state parks brought together in a preservation effort by the state and federal governments to stop logging. It’s a good thing we did because this place is amazing. Here… I’ll let the photos speak for themselves:

A Couple of Road Warriors Based in Southern California

Isiah and I are based in Southern California, so we know a lot about the state. We are constantly traveling around, finding new spots both in and out of state. I’m open to going anywhere—and thankfully, some of my couples really do push me into new places. So if you’re loving my photography and want me to meet you for an adventure wedding somewhere else, I am more than happy to see you there. Location assistance is built into my pricing, so no matter where we go, you’ll know you’re in good hands.

Where will next year take me? That’s kind of up to you! Book your elopement or outdoor wedding with Love and Latitudes to photograph your romantic adventure!
