Timber Cove Resort Wedding in Jenner, CA
Lauren & Charles
In a state as beautiful and expansive as California, it can be tough to zone in on the perfect location for your wedding or elopement. Yes, some couples feel a deep, abiding draw toward one of California’s natural parks, a popular city, or a specific landscape (e.g. mountains, beaches, deserts, forests, or waterfalls). Even if you know so many of the hot spots, you might be sleeping on some of the hidden gems in the Golden State.
Take Timber Cove Resort—this location is an absolute stunner. I was so excited to photograph Lauren & Charles at this incredible venue, overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Why Timber Cover Resort Is Perfect for Weddings
Located on California State Route 1 (also known as the Pacific Coast Highway), the Timber Cover Resort is seated comfortably near the cliffside beaches that make this area so stunning. About two-and-a-half hours north of San Francisco, this area is lush and green and often haunted by a gentle fog that makes everything so dreamy.
Truth be told, getting here is half the fun. Tucked away in the small town of Jenner, Highway 1 takes you on a journey through California’s most iconic and desolate coastlines.
The building (established in 1963) itself arrests your attention. From the “rustic modern” wooden architecture to the 93-foot-tall Bufano Peace Statue Monument, it’s easy to see why this place attracts artists, spiritual travelers, and the romantically minded.
While the natural majesty is evident everywhere, the Timber Cover Resort is also just a short jaunt from Salt Point State Park and Fort Ross State Park—making it ideal for couples and guests who love to hike, explore, and soak up a little history.
Lauren & Charles Wedding Day
The sun shone brightly in the sky and the scent of ocean spray filled the air when I met with Lauren & Charles. The days before were shrouded in mist and fog—something very common along the coast of California. But the gloom parted just in time.
Everyone was eager for the ceremony. Chairs already set up at the outdoor ceremony site. And several guests took their nervous energy to tour the resort grounds, marveling at the waves, the horizon, and all the little plants. Meanwhile, Lauren & Charles got ready, taking time to look their wedding best.
The wedding ceremony was illuminated by the glorious sunshine as our couple read their vows to one another. The rich green grasses and sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean making for an intoxicating backdrop for this micro-wedding.
After the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner—I stole the couple away for more photos. It was so much fun mixing the lovely natural elements with the attractive warm wood tones of the resort itself.
As the day came to a close, I bid the couple adieu so they could focus on the magic of having finally tied the knot. All in all, it was a lovely wedding that they remember fondly.
