A Newport Beach Picnic Wedding

Southern California has an Edenic reputation. Perfect weather, beautiful beaches—there’s a lot to envy about SoCal. I should know, I was born and raised in Southern California.

SoCal nurtured a spirit of wanderlust in me. As an angsty teenager, I loved driving along the coast from Orange County to Newport Beach. I’d blare my stereo and roll down the windows, letting the salty ocean air fill my nose and lungs. I’d pull over to explore Newport and Laguna Beach, walking barefoot in the sand with camera in hand.

Southern California Beach Elopement

Now that I’m an outdoor wedding and elopement photographer, I revisit these places to celebrate and capture my clients’ most special moments.

Jenn and Dillon wanted a fall-styled, picnic wedding at a quaint and small beach in Newport Beach. That fact I’d never been to this beach, in particular, was an added delight for me. To make the wedding ceremony extra personal and special, the couple hired several amazing vendors. The end result was a stunning jewel-toned picnic complete with a lounge table, pillows, a charcuterie board, chocolate-dipped strawberries, and—of course—our smiling couple. The whole wedding experience was intimate and lovely.

Come evening, Jenn and Dillon snuggled together and silently watched the sunset. But the fun didn’t end there. This daring couple braved the waves, letting the water crash over them mid-kiss. Nothing could be cuter! Check out all the beautiful photos of their romantic beach wedding.

Meet Your Southern California Elopement Photographer

I'm Diana Lustig, a California-born adventurer with a camera for a hand and an inborn love for the outdoors. I'm a professional photographer of 15 years and counting. I was raised in Orange County and spent years of my life walking the beaches of Southern California with my camera.

How did i get into wedding and elopement photography? In 2019, I hired adventure photographers for my own wedding and they showed me there’s a different, more personal way to get married. It was such a special day, I want to bring it to so many more couples who believe in getting married their own way.
